Arrival Timeline Generator
Tell us your visa type and landing date and get a dated to-do list for your first year in Japan — residence card, ward office, insurance, pension, bank, taxes and your visa renewal window. Add tasks to your dashboard checklist or export them to your calendar.
How the dates are worked out
- The moving-in notification, health insurance and pension are counted 14 days from your landing date — the legal clock actually starts when you settle at your address, so treat our date as the latest safe day.
- Tax return season (16 Feb – 15 Mar) and residence tax (from June) follow the calendar year after your landing year; the employer toggle swaps in the year-end adjustment instead.
- Enter the expiry printed on your residence card to get the renewal window — applications are usually accepted from three months before it ends.
General guidance, not legal advice. Deadlines, fees and accepted documents differ by municipality and change over time — always confirm with your ward office, school, employer or the Immigration Services Agency before relying on a date here.
